Capital of a 13th - 14th Century kingdom that included most of Southeast Asia, Old sukhothai today consists of 21 areas of historic ruins, scattered throughout a beautifully-preserved World Heritage site. Nearby is Sre Satchanalai, another World Heritage site, with 13th - 15th Century ruins set amidst rolling hills. The sukhothai style is considered the classic Thai style.
